Oh I just loved photographing this wedding! Let me tell you why...
Anna and Slava are a really unique couple and getting married at your typical all-inclusive (where they were staying) just wasn't their thing. They had been hedging on the idea of switching the wedding locations when they found out KSM Beach Club was walking distance from their hotel, and it was a done deal.
Anna, (like myself) is an interior designer so no detail was left unturned. She, with the help of friends and family, did everything! Todo DIY ;) There were handmade white dream catchers on the wedding alter, in the reception palapa and as place cards/guest gifts at every seat. Anna wasn't a traditional bride and found her really unique dress at a "dress warehouse" in Boston. Not wanting to be the only one in white, she asked their guests to wear the same. It was all so dreamy and beachy!
It gets better! Ana is from the Ukraine and Slava is from Moldova, and friends and family came from all over the world to see them tie the knot in Mexico. During the ceremony, Ana and Slava sang Dreams by The Cranberries to each other and all of their wedding guests chimed in too! It was one of the most magical, heart-warming moments in my photography career. (What's weirder is Colin and I were listening to that song the night before while we were editing). The night was filled with traditions from their home countries (lots of bread), a lot of singing and traditional dances (taught by Slava's world famous dancer parents). It was really the most joyful wedding I've ever seen. Two days later, Ana and Slava braced the cold waters in a trash the dress session. Shown later! (PS thank you tropical storm Colin (no relation) for only giving us a quick downpour and gorgeous light on their wedding day!)
Enjoy their epic wedding below!
